Mika - Cartoon Covers

At first glance, the cover art for both of Mika's studio albums appear to have a child-like aesthetic. In reality, these were designed by the artist's sister, Yasmine. When you really take the time to observe the covers, there are many intricate details and symbolic representations of the album's content. The explosion of imagery and colours reminds me of a dream or an in-depth look at the singer's creative process. Regardless, the style of these covers really suits the musical genre.

I especially like the treatment of Mika's name. Amidst the crazy backdrop, it's placed at exactly the same location on both covers, serving as an anchor. Although we've not heard from Mika in a while, I'm looking forward to his third album where a similar theme will hopefully be carried throughout.
